Thanks, this is what i wanted to know, but a couple of questions.....is it a single 1GByte chip or are they in blocks of 256Mbyte..and also, where is the memory board located or is there an easy way of identifying it?

    Thanks again.

You can buy a single unit of 1GB or several 256MB units, but the best choice is going for the bigger ones, this way you only use 1 memory bay on your motherboard, then you can place more memory in the future using the remaining bays. Oh, yes, the moment you open your PC you will easily identify your memory modules, you can't miss them.

Jaime, I have a dell dimension 8200 and I need to get a rambus memory. I asked Dell and they gave me part number A1166253, where's the best place to get this online? Look forward to your reply.

Hy Rayaz, brand parts are always expensive, even more when it is RAMBUS, one of the highest priced RAM units, I have doing some research and found that the best place to buy it is in Dell's site, (I wouldn't recommend using another brand of RAM as this will void your warranty). So if this is somewhat helpful, go to http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/products/Mem... there you will find your memory unit.
